The Middle East is a region in transition. It faces long-standing challenges such as regional instability and terrorism, and COVID-19 has further exposed its vulnerabilities. However, the Middle East is also fertile ground for opportunities. Forward-looking leadership can deliver more sustainable economies, more equitable societies and an ecosystem that promotes tolerance and nurtures innovation. Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh, the Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations, will discuss the UAE’s role in the region and its focus on overcoming the region’s challenges.
